The spotlight fell on the German dancer and writer when she shared a video of herself gracefully dancing to Davido’s hit song, “Unavailable.” However, some of her followers disapproved, criticizing her choice to dance so soon after her husband’s recent passing.

In response, Claire-Rupio addressed the situation in an Instagram post, explaining that her dancing served as a coping mechanism for her grief rather than an expression of happiness. She emphasized she had to deal with her sorrow since she was now solely responsible for caring for their three children. Dancing had always been her passion and a means to handle her mental health struggles, as is often practiced in Europe.

With heartfelt sincerity, Claire-Rupio requested her followers to consider their words before writing or posting negative comments, urging them to think about the impact their words may have. She expressed gratitude for their understanding.

Tragically, Atsu, her husband, was confirmed dead on Saturday, February 18, 2023, after his lifeless body was discovered amidst the wreckage caused by the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey. The search for him had been arduous, spanning several days following the earthquake’s destructive impact on Turkey and Syria in mid-February.

Tributes and condolences poured in from near and far as people expressed their sympathies to the footballer’s family and loved ones. The funeral service for the former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger took place on Friday, March 17, 2022, in his hometown of Ada.
