Retired COP George Alex Mensah Confident in IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno’s Leadership
Retired Commissioner of Police (COP) George Alex Mensah has expressed strong confidence in the leadership of COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Having worked alongside Yohuno for 31 years, Mensah believes his appointment will bring significant improvements to the Ghana Police Service. He emphasized that if Yohuno leads with the same principles and approach he has always demonstrated, the police force will benefit, and officers will be satisfied with his leadership.
Mensah described the new IGP as a pragmatic and skilled officer who thoroughly understands policing and values the input of his colleagues. He noted that Yohuno is not authoritarian but rather an open-minded leader who welcomes advice and considers new ideas to improve the service.
Stressing the importance of effective leadership, Mensah pointed out that policing is fundamentally about groundwork rather than social media visibility. He urged Yohuno to remain focused on strengthening security operations and maintaining law enforcement efforts across the country.
Reaffirming his confidence in the new IGP, Mensah expressed his trust in Yohuno’s ability to deliver positive results for the police service and the nation.
