The Black Starlets suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Heart of Lions in a friendly match played at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Both sides started the game with intensity, but it was Heart of Lions who took the early advantage. Michael Ephson opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a well-executed finish, giving his side a 1-0 lead at halftime despite the Starlets’ efforts to respond.
The Black Starlets returned from the break with renewed energy and quickly found an equaliser. Abdul Latif Wunzalgu struck in the 48th minute to level the score at 1-1, reigniting hopes for the young Ghanaian side.
However, Heart of Lions restored their lead in the 70th minute through Chauncy Freeman, who found the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Late in the game, the Starlets were handed a crucial opportunity to draw level when captain Joseph Narbi was awarded a penalty. Unfortunately, his effort missed the target, and the team was unable to capitalise.
The match ultimately ended 2-1 in favour of Heart of Lions, who secured a hard-fought victory.
