Former Ghanaian President, John Dramani Mahama, has stated that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is feeling intimidated by his candidacy in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Mahama, who is the leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), made this claim during a recent interview. He expressed his belief that the NPP is aware of his popularity and track record of service to the country, which makes them uneasy about facing him in the polls.
The former president further asserted that the NDC is committed to a peaceful and fair election, but will not hesitate to challenge any attempt to undermine the electoral process.
The NDC is currently selecting its flag bearer for the 2024 presidential election. Mahama, who served as president from 2012 to 2016 and was defeated in the 2020 election, is considered a leading contender for the position.
