Her husband reportedly murdered a 25-year-old woman, Eunice, in Nungua, Greater Accra Region. The attack, in which he used a cutlass, occurred during a scuffle between the couple, and Eunice died on the spot. The suspect also attacked his father-in-law during the incident. Eunice had left the house because of the emotional and physical abuse inflicted on her by her husband, who was known to be a serial wife-beater.
On the day of the incident, Eunice had gone to her husband’s house to serve him a summons letter from the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit. According to Eunice’s father, who was interviewed on Adom FM’s morning show, the suspect had followed his daughter everywhere and subjected her to beatings until she threatened to divorce him. After committing the crime, residents caught and beat the suspect. They attempted to flee the area until the police intervened. The victim’s family calls for justice; the perpetrator must be punished accordingly.
