Christopher Adu Boahen, the son of the late esteemed Ghanaian historian and NPP stalwart, Professor Albert Adu Boahen has been killed by gunmen

 

Christopher, who was physically challenged, was reportedly attacked at his residence in East Legon, a suburb of Accra. The assailants not only ended Christopher’s life but also ransacked his home before fleeing the scene.

 

The late Professor Albert Kwadwo Adu Boahen was a distinguished Ghanaian academic, historian, and politician. He served as an academic at the University of Ghana from 1959 to 1990, attaining the rank of professor from 1971 onward. In the political arena, he gained prominence as a candidate in the 1992 Ghanaian presidential election, representing the New Patriotic Party, a major opposition party at the time.

 

This tragic incident has not only robbed Christopher of his life but has also deeply affected the legacy of his renowned father, Professor Albert Adu Boahen, leaving a void in both academic and political spheres in Ghana.
