Four regional governors from Burkina Faso paid a courtesy call on the Upper East Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, in Bolgatanga.

Their visit aimed to introduce themselves to the regional minister during their stay in the country for a Technical Committee meeting. The Burkinabe leaders have been engaging with Ghanaian boundary authorities to address issues of encroached boundaries between the two neighboring countries.

During the meeting, Dr. Bin Salih reiterated Ghana’s commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with Burkina Faso. He highlighted Ghana’s initiative, led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to introduce French language studies in basic schools, reflecting the importance of good relations with French-speaking neighboring countries.

Dr. Bin Salih also urged the regional governors to encourage their citizens living in Ghana to adhere to Ghanaian laws and exhibit good conduct.

The Burkinabe governors expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and indicated their readiness to welcome Ghanaian leaders to Burkina Faso at any time.
