In the ongoing ambulance procurement trial, the third accused, Richard Jakpa, has alleged that Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame tampered with WhatsApp messages he sent to him.
On Thursday, June 20, Jakpa claimed in court that the WhatsApp messages submitted as evidence by the Attorney-General had been altered, distorting the truth of their communications.
During cross-examination by Director of Public Prosecutions Yvonne Atakora Obuobisa, Jakpa argued that the content of the messages had been changed, misrepresenting his interactions with the Attorney-General.
Previously, the High Court in Accra had admitted 68 WhatsApp messages sent by Jakpa as evidence.
Trial Judge Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe noted that the court reserves the right to determine the weight of the evidence presented, despite admitting the messages.
