Ghanaian businesswoman Gifty Brown has drawn renewed attention online after a video resurfaced in which she says profits from her pastry business paid for her Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
Brown, the chief executive of Cooker’s Delight, made the claim in an earlier interview with media personality ZionFelix. She said meat pie sales were central to the business’s growth, taking it from a few sales a day to about 500 pies daily, with additional bulk orders from banks and other companies. The video has circulated again this week, prompting both praise and skepticism on social media.
According to Brown, Cooker’s Delight now sells a wider range of pastries and meals through multiple branches. She said corporate orders and customers buying in person have helped the business expand beyond its modest beginnings. She also stated that its earnings support family expenses, including her son’s school fees, which she put at $8,000.
Some online commenters have questioned whether meat pie sales could cover the cost of a luxury vehicle, while others say successful food businesses can generate substantial income when they serve both individual and corporate customers. Brown has maintained that the G-Wagon was purchased with money from her pastry business.
Her account describes the scale she says the business has reached, but its sales figures and the vehicle purchase have not been independently documented in the cited reports. The discussion has nevertheless put a spotlight on an often overlooked source of entrepreneurship: small food ventures that grow into businesses serving customers across multiple locations.
