Camidoh, the talented artist behind the popular track “Sugarcane,” has secured a coveted spot at the 2023 BET Awards.
This Ghanaian singer has received a nomination in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category. He will be up against strong contenders from various countries, including Werenoi from France, FLO from the UK, Libianca from Cameroon, Raye from the UK, Maureen from France, MC Ryan SP from Brazil, Paris Cooper from South Africa, and Asake from Nigeria.
Camidoh rose to international prominence with the release of the remix of his hit song “Sugarcane,” featuring Mayorkun and Darkoo in 2022.
Having dominated numerous international music charts, he also clinched the Afrobeats Song of the Year and Best International Collaboration awards for the “Sugarcane” remix at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Established in 2001 by the BET Awards is an American ceremony that honors black entertainers and other minorities in music, film, sports, and philanthropy.
Several Ghanaian artists, such as Kojo Antwi, D Black, Sarkodie, R2bees, Stonebwoy, Fuse ODG, MzVee, Kwesi Arthur, and Black Sherif, have either been nominated for or won BET Awards in the past.
