Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has officially filed his nomination to contest the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer race.
The NPP headquarters came alive on Thursday, August 28, 2025, as Dr. Bawumia, accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, submitted his forms. The event drew hundreds of enthusiastic supporters and party loyalists, creating a highly charged atmosphere.
Dr. Bawumia enters a competitive race that includes former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong, and Abetifi MP and former Agric Minister Bryan Acheampong. Former Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has also declared his interest and is expected to file his nomination later today.
