Efia Odo Rejects NPP Tag After Galamsey Exchange With KalyJay

Efia Odo Again

Actress and social media personality Efia Odo has denied belonging to any political party following an online exchange with digital activist KalyJay over illegal mining.

The disagreement unfolded on September 24, 2026, after she tagged KalyJay in a social media post and urged him to use his platform to speak against galamsey.

Responding to her appeal, KalyJay suggested that she supported the New Patriotic Party (NPP), while identifying himself with the National Democratic Congress (NDC). His response framed their positions along party lines, drawing a firm rebuttal from the actress.

Efia Odo questioned why asking him to address illegal mining should be interpreted as evidence of political affiliation. She maintained that her advocacy was driven by a commitment to truth rather than loyalty to a party.

“How funny of you to tell me that I belong to the NPP all of a sudden because I tagged you to speak about galamsey? Is it so wrong for me to uphold you to such a task? I don’t belong to any political party, I belong to truth,” she wrote.

Her response stressed that calling on influential voices to address national concerns should not automatically attract a partisan label.

The actress has previously spoken about her determination to maintain political independence in her advocacy. Reflecting on her involvement in movements such as #FixTheCountry, she has said she stepped away when she felt the campaign had become overly politicized.

Her latest comments reinforce that position, placing her call for action against illegal mining within her broader advocacy on national issues.
