The family of late Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Beverly Afaglo has announced a change in venue for her final funeral rites, moving the main service to the Forecourt of the State House in Accra to accommodate the expected large turnout of mourners.
The updated arrangements reflect the widespread public admiration for the actress, with colleagues in the entertainment industry, fans, and dignitaries expected to attend in large numbers to pay their final respects.
Revised Funeral Arrangements
According to the family’s announcement, the main funeral service, which was initially scheduled for the Lashibi Funeral Home, will now take place at the Forecourt of the State House on Saturday, August 8, 2026, beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Following the public ceremony, a private burial will be held for close family members only.
A Thanksgiving service has also been scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Action Chapel International, starting at 9:00 a.m., bringing the final phase of the Ghana-based rites to a close.
International Memorial Service in the United States
In addition to the Ghana ceremonies, an international memorial service has been organized by her husband, Eugene Baah—popularly known as Choirmaster or Praye Honeho of the music group Praye.
The United States-based service will take place on Friday, July 3, 2026, in Woodbridge, Virginia.
The program is expected to include candle-lighting tributes, musical performances, and a cancer awareness session led by medical professionals and survivors, aimed at honoring Beverly Afaglo’s memory while raising awareness about the disease.
Celebration of Life and Legacy
Beverly Afaglo passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026, at the age of 42, after a private two-year battle with cancer. She was just days away from her 43rd birthday.
According to her family, the actress endured extensive medical treatment over the course of her illness before passing away peacefully in her final days.
She is survived by her husband and their two children.
Her passing has drawn widespread tributes from across Ghana’s creative arts industry, with many remembering her for her talent, resilience, and contributions to film and entrepreneurship.
