Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has revealed that he would like to return as a woman in another life, describing the ability to carry and give birth to a child as an experience he deeply admires.
Speaking with Nikki Samonas on Joy Prime’s Changes, the musician discussed his views on feminism, questioning traditional beliefs and his appreciation of women’s strength.
The award-winning artiste, popularly known as the “Rap Doctor”, said he was particularly fascinated by a woman’s capacity to nurture another life within her body.
“One of the key things that you guys have that we don’t is the fact that you are able to hold a soul in yourself,” he said. “Once in your life, it could be two souls in one… or more.”
He explained that this aspect of womanhood inspired both admiration and a sense of envy, fueling his wish to experience childbirth if given another life.
In a light-hearted observation, Okyeame Kwame suggested that men would struggle with the pain associated with giving birth.
“I tell you, if men were the ones giving birth, we would just give birth once and stop because I don’t think we can deal with the pain,” he remarked.
However, the rapper attached a condition to his wish. He said he would want to experience womanhood in an “enlightened society” that protects women and supports their development.
His comments connected his admiration for women’s reproductive abilities with a desire for a society in which they are respected and empowered.
