Salma Mumin Denies Alleged Relationship With Julius Debrah, Threatens Legal Action

Salma Mumin Denies Alleged

Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur Salma Mumin has rejected allegations that she is involved in a romantic relationship with politician and former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah.

The allegations were made by media personality Afia Schwarzenegger in videos shared on social media. She reportedly claimed that Mumin had a private relationship with Debrah and was receiving financial support from him.

In response, the actress described the claims as completely false, defamatory and damaging to her reputation. She stated that she had no personal or romantic relationship with Debrah and challenged the basis of the allegations circulating online.

Mumin said the claims were not supported by any credible evidence and had exposed her to public ridicule and unwanted commentary. She maintained that her personal achievements and business activities should not be attributed to an alleged relationship with a politically connected individual.

The actress has built a career in Ghana’s film and entertainment industry while also operating businesses in the fashion and food sectors. She argued that the allegations undermined her professional efforts by creating a false impression about the source of her success and financial independence.

Her lawyers have since issued a formal notice demanding that Afia Schwarzenegger retract the allegations immediately and offer an unqualified public apology.

The legal team warned that failure to comply with the demand could result in a defamation lawsuit. Such an action could seek damages and other remedies available under Ghanaian law for the alleged harm caused to Mumin’s image and standing.

The notice also raises broader concerns about the publication of unverified allegations on social media, particularly claims involving private relationships and financial support. Public figures have increasingly resorted to legal action when they believe online statements have crossed the line from commentary into reputational harm.

Mumin has urged members of the public and media organizations not to repeat or amplify the allegations without verification. She said she remained committed to protecting her name and would take the necessary legal steps if the claims were not withdrawn.

Afia Schwarzenegger had not publicly retracted the allegations or apologized at the time of the actress’s statement. No court action had been filed when the legal warning was issued.
