Shatta Wale Announces Free Entry for MoMoFest

Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has waived admission fees for the MoMoFest X ShattaFest concert scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Ho Youth Resource Centre.

Speaking at a press briefing in Ho on Friday, the musician said he would absorb fans’ admission costs despite thousands of tickets already being purchased. He described the decision as a gesture of appreciation for the support he has received from the Volta Region.

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, called the region his “motherland” and said the concert offered an opportunity to reconnect with supporters after years without performing there.

He thanked chiefs, queen mothers, traditional authorities and fans for their encouragement and prayers. He also remembered his late grandfather, Agbavitor, whom he credited with encouraging his parents to believe in his potential.

Although admission charges have been removed, access will involve showing support for selected partner platforms. According to the Ghana News Agency, Shatta Wale said patrons could download the MoMo by MTN application and display it at the entrance as their ticket. He also mentioned participation in other associated initiatives, including Shaxi, as alternative ways to gain entry.

The concert was initially planned for the Ho Sports Stadium but has been relocated to the Youth Resource Centre. Shatta Wale attributed the change to strong ticket demand, saying the original venue could not accommodate the anticipated turnout.

He also said the event would provide a platform for artistes from the Volta Region and other emerging performers, linking the concert to his wider ambition to support local talent and create opportunities for young people.
