Fire outbreak at Accra Tourist Information Centre

A fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, August 4, 2025, at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, located opposite Afrikiki in Accra.

The blaze, which reportedly began around 1:00 a.m., is being tackled by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), who swiftly responded to the emergency.

According to eyewitness accounts, the fire is suspected to have started in the kitchen area of Rockz Waakye, a popular food vendor operating within the facility. However, the exact cause has yet to be confirmed, as investigations by the GNFS are ongoing.

Thankfully, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. Firefighters remain on the scene, working diligently to fully extinguish the flames and assess the extent of the damage.
