Manchester United should have sign on Thomas Partey

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has expressed his desire for the club to have signed Thomas Partey during his time at Atletico Madrid. Partey, a Ghanaian midfielder, recently moved to Premier League rivals Arsenal in a £45m deal.

Ferdinand, who won six Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy with Manchester United, believes Partey would have been a great addition to the team’s midfield. He praised Partey’s physical attributes, his ability to break up play, and his composure on the ball.

Despite Ferdinand’s wishes, Manchester United did not pursue a deal for Partey during his time at Atletico Madrid. The 28-year-old midfielder joined Arsenal in October 2020 and has made a positive impact at the London club.

Ferdinand has been critical of Manchester United’s midfield in recent seasons and has called for the club to sign a “dominant” midfielder in order to compete for major honours. Partey’s performances for Arsenal may well make Ferdinand regret his former club’s decision not to pursue a deal for the Ghanaian midfielder.
