The Ministry of Transport has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing key strategic action points proposed by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ghana.

These recommendations were first outlined during the CEOs in Transport and Logistics Breakfast Meeting held earlier this year.

Speaking on behalf of Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe at the launch and fundraising event marking CILT Ghana’s 60th anniversary, Deputy Minister Dorcas Affo-Toffey said the proposals are in line with the government’s Resetting Agenda.

“CILT Ghana has been an instrumental partner in our development drive… As a Ministry, we acknowledge the critical role of professional bodies like CILT in helping us achieve our national objectives,” she noted.

She added: “I am pleased to affirm that these action points resonate with the Government’s Resetting Agenda. We shall champion innovation, modernize our transport and logistics infrastructure, and ensure Ghana remains a formidable force on the global stage.”

The Deputy Minister also congratulated CILT Ghana on its 60th anniversary, commending its efforts in upholding industry standards, building capacity, and advocating for policies to strengthen the transport sector.

She further expressed confidence that the funds raised during the celebration would help drive the institute’s next phase of growth.

The event, which highlighted six decades of CILT Ghana’s contribution to national development, brought together stakeholders who called for deeper collaboration to propel Ghana’s transport and logistics sector into the future.
