The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased annual financial support for its 54 member associations by approximately 33%, raising the maximum allocation from $525,000 to $700,000 each.
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe announced the adjustment in a statement published on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. The revised ceiling provides each national association, including the Ghana Football Association, with access to an additional $175,000 annually.
Funding for CAF’s zonal unions will also rise by 20%, from $750,000 to $900,000 per union. Meanwhile, the African Clubs Association’s allocation will increase from $400,000 to $500,000.
The latest revision brings member association grants to 250% above their 2021 level of $200,000. Allocations subsequently rose to $400,000 and then $525,000 before this announcement.
CAF said the additional resources would support youth and women’s football, strengthen administration and governance, and help associations develop sustainable programs for players, coaches and referees.
At the maximum allocation, annual support for the 54 national associations would total $37.8 million. The increases form part of CAF’s efforts to strengthen football development and financial sustainability across the continent.
