Norwich City Interested in Ghana Midfielder Augustine Boakye

Augustine Boakye

EFL Championship club Norwich City are reportedly considering a move for Ghanaian attacking midfielder Augustine Boakye from French side AS Saint-Étienne.

According to Get French Football News, the Canaries have identified the 25-year-old as a potential addition while seeking to strengthen their attacking options.

Boakye can operate as an attacking midfielder or winger, giving him the versatility to play in several positions across the forward line.

The Ghanaian joined Saint-Étienne from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC in July 2024 following an impressive season in Austria. His creativity, movement and ability to contribute in attacking areas reportedly attracted attention from several European clubs.

Boakye’s international profile received a further boost after he was selected for Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Norwich manager Philippe Clement is looking to reinforce his team as the club pursues promotion to the Premier League. Boakye could provide additional creativity and attacking depth at Carrow Road if a deal is completed.

Norwich may, however, face competition for the player’s signature. Fellow British club Wrexham have also reportedly expressed interest in signing him.

No formal agreement has been announced, and Saint-Étienne’s asking price remains unclear. Discussions could develop as the interested clubs assess their options before the transfer window closes.
