Police Arrest Woman, Declare Man Wanted Over Sakumono Killings

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a woman and declared a man wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two people at NTHC Estate in Sakumono, Greater Accra Region.

The victims have been identified as George Atuguba, 57, and Irene Atuguba, 47. They were shot on Friday, October 30, 2026, following what police say may have been a dispute over an alleged GH¢500,000 debt dispute.

According to preliminary police investigations, George Atuguba allegedly borrowed GH¢500,000 from the man now wanted by police but had not repaid it.

Police say the man, identified as Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, went to the victims’ residence with Beatrice Mumuni to demand repayment. A misunderstanding allegedly followed, during which the two victims were shot.

The victims were taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead. Their bodies have since been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Arrest and reward

Police have arrested 47-year-old Beatrice Mumuni in connection with the killings. The service says she is believed to have led the wanted man to the victims’ residence before the shooting.

Osei Anto remains wanted, and police have offered a GH¢100,000 reward for credible information leading to his arrest. Anyone with information has been asked to report to the nearest police station or call the emergency numbers 191 or 18555.

The circumstances surrounding the killings remain under investigation.
