The Eastern Regional Police Command says order has been restored at Larteh Ahenease following disturbances during the community’s Odwira Festival on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Additional officers have been deployed to strengthen security, protect residents and festival participants, and prevent further unrest.

In a statement issued on Sunday, October 4, the command confirmed that the situation had been brought under control and said engagement with community stakeholders was continuing to preserve peace.

Police warned that anyone attempting to disrupt public order would face firm action. The command also appealed for cooperation with security personnel as efforts to maintain stability continued.

The statement did not explain what triggered the disturbances or confirm whether any arrests had been made. It also provided no details about injuries or damage to property.
