Residents of Sebrepor in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region are appealing for urgent intervention over a prolonged water shortage that has disrupted daily life and increased household expenses.
The community has struggled with unreliable supply for more than a year, leaving families dependent on private water tankers. Residents say the cost of buying water is placing considerable pressure on already limited incomes.
According to report the community is having difficulties in obtaining enough water for cooking, bathing, washing and other essential activities. Some households reported going days without a dependable supply.
Residents are calling on the relevant authorities to provide immediate relief and restore regular pipe-borne water. Their appeal centers on securing a lasting solution that would reduce the financial burden of relying on commercial deliveries.
The complaints follow similar concerns in nearby Community 25, where residents visited the Ghana Water Limited office at Gbetsile on October 6 to demand explanations for persistent supply disruptions. Residents there reported more than two months without regular potable water, affecting household routines and forcing them to seek alternatives.
Responding to the Community 25 concerns, Ghana Water Limited assured residents of that area, Gulf City and surrounding communities that the disruptions were temporary and that efforts were underway to restore stable supply.
For households in Sebrepor, however, the continuing expense of securing water remains a pressing concern, with residents urging authorities to priorities a reliable and affordable supply.
