NPP government sabotaging my businesses – Kennedy Agyapong

yt

Kennedy Agyapong, a Ghanaian businessman and politician, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government of attempting to sabotage and destroy his businesses. Agyapong, who is a member of parliament for Assin Central, made these allegations in a recent media interview.

According to Agyapong, he has been targeted by the government due to his criticisms of certain policies and actions taken by the NPP. He claimed that the government has put pressure on banks and financial institutions to freeze his accounts and withdraw credit facilities. Agyapong also accused the government of deliberately delaying the payment of outstanding debts owed to his companies.

Furthermore, Agyapong alleged that the government has used state institutions such as the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to harass and intimidate him. He claimed that his businesses have been subjected to excessive tax assessments and arbitrary closures.

Agyapong, who is known for his outspokenness and controversial statements, also criticized the government’s handling of the economy and its failure to fulfill its campaign promises.

The NPP government has denied these allegations, with some party members dismissing Agyapong’s claims as baseless and politically motivated. The government has emphasized its commitment to creating a conducive business environment and promoting private sector growth.

This development highlights the tensions that can arise between businesses and political parties in Ghana. It also underscores the need for effective regulation and accountability to ensure that private sector actors are not unfairly targeted or disadvantaged by political interests.
