Former Speakers of Parliament also expressed condolences for Professor Mike Ocquaye’s loss.
The current Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin and Former speakers, Rt. Rt. Hon. Doe Adjaho Rt. Hon Joyce Bamford Addo paid a courtesy call on Prof. Ocquaye, a former Speaker of Parliament himself, over the weekend to mourn with him on the passing of his wife.
It is reported that Major Rtd. Alberta Adwoa Boatemaa Oquaye passed away Saturday, March 5, 2023.
Mike Ocquaye Junior, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Free Zones Authority and former Ghana’s High Commissioner to India, announced the sad demise of his mother on his Facebook page.
Mrs. Ocquaye was a former Nursing Officer at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
As a result, Ambassador Mike Ocquaye Junior requests prayers from Ghanaians for his nearly 79-year-old dad and the family.
In his message Mr. Ocquaye Jnr. wrote “it is with deep sorrow that I have to convey the news of the sudden passing of our mother; Maj. Rtd. Alberta Adwoa Boatemaa Oquaye. Let us all kindly pray for her husband and our father, The Hon. Prof. Ocquaye, her son Ambassador Mike Oquaye Jnr and the entire family.
