Rapper Nicki Minaj appeared alongside President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, on Sunday, October 25, urging voters to support Republican candidates in the November 3 midterm elections.
Wearing a gold colored Gucci suit, Minaj praised Trump’s leadership and encouraged the crowd to back U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James.
Minaj reportedly travelled to Michigan with Trump aboard Air Force One. During the flight, she recorded a light-hearted video pretending to interview for the role of White House press secretary.
At the rally, the rapper described Trump as a symbol of resilience and said he had “changed the energy of our country” since returning to office. She expressed confidence in his leadership and linked her support to concerns about the future of American children.
Minaj also criticized gender-transition interventions for minors, framing her remarks as a call to protect children.
She pledged her continued support for Trump, telling him: “I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again.”
Her remarks added to discussion surrounding the prospect of another Trump presidential bid, although she did not outline what she meant by a future campaign.
Trump welcomed Minaj’s endorsement, describing her as “smart” and saying she understood his political message.
His remarks also included a sexually suggestive comment about the rapper’s body. He subsequently asked her to stand and expressed hope that she had not been offended.
Minaj’s appearance brought celebrity attention to the Michigan campaign event as Republicans sought support ahead of the midterm vote.
