President Akufo-Addo has signed three new tax bills into law. Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made the revelation on JoyNews’ The Probe.
The document has been given to the Clerk of Parliament to initiate the rest of the administrative procedures. According to Parliament, the Excise Duty Amendment Bill 2022, Growth and Sustainability Levy Bill 2022, and Income Tax Amendment Bill 2022 will generate GHC4 billion annually.
The government asserts the bills are crucial to obtaining the US$3 million bailout it is seeking from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
