Residents and driver unions in Ashaiman have taken to the streets to express their frustration with the government’s neglect of the deteriorating road infrastructure within the municipality. Their primary demand is for immediate road repairs and improvements.
The protestors argue that the deplorable condition of the roads has severe economic repercussions for them. They are forced to visit mechanics frequently for vehicle maintenance due to the poor road conditions, which results in additional expenses. Moreover, the road conditions make it difficult for them to earn their daily wages.
According to the demonstrators, the government’s efforts to address this issue have been minimal at best. They have resolved to continue their protests until they witness tangible progress and see actual road improvement initiatives commencing in Ashaiman.
