Accra came alive on Saturday night as Shatta Wale once again proved why he’s hailed as the King of the Streets, headlining what is now confirmed as the biggest outdoor music event in Ghana’s history.
More than 100,000 fans packed the Independence Square for Shatta Fest 2025, a grand concert celebrating his 40th birthday — and it was nothing short of electrifying.
From dazzling fireworks to a roaring crowd chanting his name, Shatta Wale delivered an unforgettable performance. The self-proclaimed African Dancehall King took the stage with unmatched energy, thrilling fans with back-to-back hits including Ayoo, On God, Kakai, and Taking Over.
Yet, the night’s most touching moment came when Shatta Wale paused the show to honour Samini, whom he described as the “pioneer and godfather of Ghanaian Dancehall.” Presenting a special plaque, Shatta praised Samini as a “trailblazer who opened doors for the new generation.”
