A 33-year-old woman, identified only as Haiga, who was about eight months pregnant, has been found dead on her family’s farm near Yawusukrom in the Dormaa West District of the Bono Region.
According to reports, Haiga went to the farm on Thursday, November 5, 2025, to harvest okra but failed to return home.
Her husband, Elder Kumbur Bright, said he returned home around 6 p.m. and asked Haiga’s younger sister—who was unwell—if she had seen her. The sister replied that Haiga had not come back from the farm.
Growing concerned, Elder Bright went in search of his wife and, to his shock, found her lifeless body on the farm. He quickly called his brothers for assistance, and together they reported the incident to the Nkrankwanta Police.
Police officers from the Nkrankwanta District reportedly arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. and conveyed the body to a health facility. Investigations have since been launched to determine the cause of death.
