A young Ghanaian woman has shared a disturbing account of her experience with a landlord she identified only as “Pastor M,” alleging that a hidden camera she installed in her bedroom captured him repeatedly entering her room without her permission and engaging in inappropriate behavior.
The woman, who has since vacated the property, said she decided to install the concealed camera after becoming suspicious that someone had been entering her room in her absence. According to her, personal belongings often appeared to have been moved, raising concerns that her privacy was being violated.
When she reviewed the footage, she claimed it revealed the landlord allegedly accessing her room on multiple occasions without her knowledge. Among the actions she described was the landlord allegedly sniffing her underwear, an incident she said left her shocked and traumatized.
The woman explained that the recordings confirmed her fears and prompted her to immediately report the matter to the Agbogba Police, who have since been informed of the allegations.
According to her, the incident was not an isolated one. After speaking with other women living on the property, she said several female tenants recounted experiencing similar situations involving the same landlord.
She further alleged that one former tenant became pregnant after an alleged relationship with the landlord and was subsequently threatened with eviction if she refused to terminate the pregnancy. These allegations have not been independently verified, and no official statement has been released by the accused landlord regarding the claims.
The woman said the ordeal forced her to move out of the apartment for her own safety and peace of mind. She added that she decided to speak publicly about her experience to encourage other women to remain vigilant when searching for accommodation and to report any suspicious behavior to the authorities.
Her account has generated widespread discussion on social media, with many users calling for a thorough police investigation into the allegations and urging landlords to respect the privacy and dignity of their tenants.
The case also highlights growing concerns about tenant safety, privacy, and abuse of trust within rental properties. Housing advocates have encouraged tenants to properly secure their rooms, verify the background of prospective landlords where possible, and promptly report any suspected misconduct to law enforcement agencies.
As of the time of publication, the Ghana Police Service has not publicly announced any arrests or charges in connection with the allegations, and investigations are expected to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
