Kokofu Accuses Government of Delivering “Scandal Upon Scandal” Instead of National Reset

Kokofu Accuses Government of Delivering

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has criticized the government over what he described as a succession of controversies undermining its promise to reset the country.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo program on October 17, 2026, the former Chief Executive of the Environmental Protection Agency said the administration was accumulating “scandal upon scandal” rather than addressing the challenges confronting Ghanaians.

Kokofu expressed concern about the effect of repeated political disputes on public confidence, arguing that the government needed to devote greater attention to economic stability and the integrity of state institutions.

His criticism comes amid debate over the management of public funds, demands for former ministers to account for their stewardship, and investigations involving prominent political figures. Investigations by the Economic and Organized Crime Office have also attracted attention following property freezes and related legal challenges.

Sports administration has faced scrutiny as well, with calls for National Sports Authority officials to resign over logistical concerns.

Kokofu urged the government to take growing public dissatisfaction seriously and address problems within its administration. He called on the presidency and the governing party’s leadership to reflect on their performance and introduce corrective measures.

He warned that failing to respond to citizens’ concerns could carry electoral consequences, stressing that restoring confidence would require concrete action on governance and the economy.
