Winners Chapel Members in Asaba Protest Pastor Jude’s Removal

Members of Living Faith Church Worldwide, popularly known as Winners Chapel, in Asaba, Nigeria’s Delta State, have staged a peaceful demonstration seeking the reinstatement of their pastor, identified as Pastor Jude.

The protest took place on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with congregants carrying placards and appealing to the church’s founder and presiding bishop, David Oyedepo, to review the decision. Footage of the demonstration subsequently circulated on social media.

Some participants described Pastor Jude’s ministry as a positive influence on their lives and questioned the justification for his removal. They urged church authorities to reconsider, saying they believed he had served the congregation faithfully.

The appeal extended beyond returning him to the Asaba branch. According to reports, some members said they would welcome his redeployment to another congregation, provided he could continue serving within the church.

The demonstration drew differing reactions online as footage showed members publicly challenging the decision.

The reports reviewed did not include an official explanation from the church leadership for Pastor Jude’s removal. The circumstances surrounding the decision therefore remain unclear.
