Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr has become the first African artiste to headline an NFL International Games halftime show, performing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
The Grammy-nominated musician took center stage during the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 5 clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars, bringing African pop music to the league’s international audience.
Ayra Starr opened her performance with “Heaven Baby” before delivering a medley that included “Santa,” “Hot Body,” “Rush” and “Dangerous.” The selection combined established hits with newer material, showcasing the music behind her growing international profile.
The London appearance followed the August release of her third studio album, Starrgirl. Ahead of the event, the singer described performing on the NFL stage as a dream come true and expressed excitement about bringing the project to London, one of her favorite cities.
Her performance formed part of the NFL’s expanded international entertainment program, featuring seven halftime shows across its 2026 international schedule, spanning seven countries and four continents. The initiative places music alongside the league’s efforts to reach audiences beyond the United States.
The milestone adds to Ayra Starr’s international achievements, which include Grammy nominations and a BET Award for Best International Act. Since her debut in 2021, she has built a global following, with “Rush” among the songs that helped introduce her to audiences worldwide.
