BHIM Festival Has No Permanent Venue — Stonebwoy’s Publicist

Stonebwoy’s publicist, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has clarified that the BHIM Festival has no permanent venue, following discussions about its move to the University of Ghana Sports Stadium for the 2026 edition.

She explained that organizers select locations according to the production requirements and experience planned for each year. Previous editions have taken place at stadiums, arenas, parks and beachfront venues.

“We do not have a permanent venue per se for the event,” she said, dismissing suggestions that the choice of Legon signals a permanent departure from the Accra Sports Stadium.

UG Stadium Was a Preferred Option

Vida said the University of Ghana Sports Stadium was a preferred location because it suited the team’s production plans.

However, organizers approached several venues, including the Accra Sports Stadium, to ensure alternatives were available if their first choice could not accommodate the event.

She described the process as practical planning, with the final decision guided by the experience the team intends to deliver to fans.

Venue Change Does Not Signal Decline

Addressing criticism that moving to a smaller venue represented a setback, Vida said the festival should be considered alongside Stonebwoy’s wider efforts to bring live performances to audiences across Ghana.

She pointed to his regional shows, including an event in the Volta Region, as part of a strategy to reach fans who might otherwise have to travel to Accra.

According to her, those performances complement the annual December gathering and broaden access to Stonebwoy’s music.

Christmas Eve Concert Confirmed

BHIM Festival 2026 will take place on Thursday, December 24, at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon, with the program scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

The event follows the festival’s tenth-anniversary celebration at the Accra Sports Stadium in 2025. Supporting performers are expected to be announced ahead of the concert.
