Award-winning Ghanaian musician Bisa Kdei has announced “The Convention,” a new annual concert aimed at celebrating Highlife music and preserving its place in Ghana’s cultural heritage.
The inaugural edition will take place on Sunday, December 20, 2026, at The Underbridge Annex in East Legon, Accra, adding to the country’s end-of-year entertainment program.
Bisa Kdei will headline the event with a 12-piece live band, performing songs from his catalogue, including fan favorites “Mansa,” “Brother Brother” and “Odo Carpenter.”
The concert is designed to bring together Highlife enthusiasts, music lovers and members of the African diaspora for an evening of live performances and cultural experiences.
Having spent nearly 15 years in the contemporary music industry, Bisa Kdei intends to use the platform to honor Highlife’s roots while highlighting the ways younger generations continue to develop the genre.
Organizers say surprise guest artistes will join him on stage, contributing performances that reflect both the traditional and contemporary expressions of Highlife.
Beyond the maiden concert, “The Convention” is intended to become a recurring platform for promoting Ghanaian music and strengthening appreciation of the country’s musical heritage.
Tickets are available through BisaConvention.live and by dialing *714*911# across local mobile networks. Table reservations can be made by calling 0262-455-123.
