British actor and filmmaker Noel Clarke has been charged with six sexual offences following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police.
The Crown Prosecution Service authorised two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure against the 50-year-old actor.
The charges relate to alleged offences involving five women between 2007 and 2016.
Clarke is expected to make his first appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21, where the charges will formally be presented before the court.
The Metropolitan Police launched a formal investigation into Clarke in September 2025. He was arrested during the investigation before officers submitted a file of evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service for consideration.
Prosecutors subsequently reviewed the evidence and authorised the six criminal charges.
Public allegations against Clarke first emerged in April 2021, when The Guardian published accounts from more than 20 women accusing him of sexual misconduct, harassment and bullying.
Clarke strongly denied the allegations at the time and later filed a libel lawsuit against the newspaper over its reporting.
In August 2025, the High Court ruled against him, finding that the allegations of misconduct reported by The Guardian were “substantially true.”
The outcome of the civil libel case is separate from the new criminal proceedings. The charges against Clarke have not yet been determined by a criminal court, and he is entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty.
Clarke is known for his work in British film and television, including Kidulthood, Adulthood and Bulletproof. He has also worked as a writer, director and producer.
The case will proceed through the courts following his scheduled appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
