Alhaji Osman Masawudu, popularly known as Chairman Buga Buga, has rejected social media claims that he took Queen Meela away from popular Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam.
The Third National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party explained that Queen Meela’s relationship with the musician had already ended before he became involved with her.
According to Chairman Buga, Fancy Gadam had publicly announced their separation, and all traditional and legal processes connected to the previous marriage had reportedly been concluded.
He argued that proposing to a woman who is no longer married is neither improper nor unlawful.
Chairman Buga also stressed that, as an Alhaji and a Mallam, he would not interfere in an existing marriage. He said he formally approached Queen Meela’s father and other members of her family to ask for her hand in marriage, following the required traditional and legal procedures.
He disclosed that he met Queen Meela after her divorce. The two courted for approximately two months before getting married, making her his second wife.
Chairman Buga further denied reports of hostility between himself and Fancy Gadam. He said he had no personal disagreement with the musician and had only encountered him once during a brief meeting at a restaurant in Accra.
Fancy Gadam has also responded to the controversy, confirming during an interview on Okay FM that he does not personally know Chairman Buga.
The Tamale-based musician said he held no bitterness toward the NPP executive over the marriage and was not heartbroken by the development.
“Ebi normal,” he stated, indicating that he had accepted the situation.
Fancy Gadam added that he prefers to walk away peacefully when he believes the mutual commitment and energy required to sustain a relationship are no longer present.
The responses from both men appear to dismiss suggestions of a personal feud, despite the speculation and allegations that have circulated on social media.
