Afrobeats superstar Davido has officially announced that his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Oriadé, will be released on July 31, 2026, marking a major milestone in his celebrated music career.
The announcement was made exclusively through Billboard, accompanied by a cinematic teaser that offers fans a glimpse into the album’s theme and artistic direction. The release has been strategically scheduled to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Davido’s journey in the music industry.
The Meaning Behind Oriadé
The album title, Oriadé, is derived from the Yoruba language, combining the words “ori,” meaning head or destiny, and “adé,” meaning crown.
Together, the phrase symbolizes a “crowned destiny”—a person blessed with divine purpose and authority.
According to Davido, the album reflects on his personal and professional journey, serving as an expression of gratitude for his success and the faith he placed in himself at the beginning of his career.
A Return to His Signature Afrobeats Sound
With Oriadé, Davido is returning to the vibrant Afrobeats style that helped establish him as one of Africa’s biggest global music stars.
The singer revealed that the project moves away from the experimental fusion featured in some of his recent work, instead embracing the energetic rhythms and melodies that have become his trademark.
The album will feature 13 tracks, making it the shortest full-length studio album of his career. His previous five studio albums each featured 17 songs, making Oriadé a more focused and concise project.
Lead Single Builds Momentum
The album campaign officially began with the release of “I Know Who I Be” on June 26, 2026.
The single has generated significant excitement among fans and serves as the first taste of the sound and themes that will define Oriadé.
Following the Success of 5ive
Oriadé arrives as the follow-up to Davido’s successful 2025 album, 5ive, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums chart and further cemented his status as one of Afrobeats’ leading international artists.
The new release will become the sixth standalone studio album in Davido’s discography, following:
- Omo Baba Olowo (2012)
- A Good Time (2019)
- A Better Time (2020)
- Timeless (2023)
- 5ive (2025)
Celebrating 15 Years of Global Success

With Oriadé, the award-winning artist is looking back on his journey while opening a new chapter in his career. As anticipation builds ahead of its July 31 release, fans around the world are eager to hear what promises to be one of the biggest Afrobeats albums of 2026.
