Ghanaian highlife musician Fameye marked his birthday with a charitable visit to the Village of Hope Orphanage at Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.
Instead of organizing a star-studded celebration, the award-winning musician chose to spend the occasion with children at the facility, sharing food, drinks and moments of joy with them.
The gesture held personal significance for Fameye, who lost both parents at an early age. His experience of growing up without their presence inspired him to celebrate with children who understand the challenges of living without parental care.
“I didn’t celebrate my birthday by asking for more. I celebrated by giving love to children who, like me, know what it means to grow up without a parent’s embrace,” he stated.
During the visit, Fameye interacted closely with the children, joined them for meals and participated in activities intended to make the occasion memorable. The gathering was filled with laughter and excitement as the musician sought to give the children a sense of belonging and celebration.
The initiative received support from PizzaMan ChickenMan and Creme Russian Bakery, which provided food and treats for the children.
Fameye expressed appreciation to the partners and everyone who helped make the outreach possible. He said their contribution demonstrated the positive impact that can be achieved when individuals and businesses collaborate to support vulnerable members of society.
The musician indicated that he wants the visit to become an annual tradition rather than a one-time charitable gesture. He hopes to expand subsequent editions to include essential donations and assistance tailored to the needs of children living in orphanages and other care facilities.
Fameye’s long-term vision is to reach more institutions and mobilize sustained support for children who require educational materials, healthcare assistance, food, clothing and other basic necessities.
The birthday outreach highlighted the singer’s personal journey and his determination to use his influence to support children facing circumstances similar to those he experienced while growing up.
