Salomey Awiti Baffoe, the nurse facing prosecution in connection with the “Ghana Jollof” TikTok case, has returned to her family after fulfilling her GH¢100,000 bail conditions.
Her uncle, Kojo Asiedu, confirmed the reunion in an interview with Adom News, expressing appreciation to those who supported the family during her detention. He said she appeared well, although the family intended to arrange a medical assessment.
The Adenta Circuit Court granted Baffoe bail on Monday, October 5, 2026, with two sureties. Both were required to be civil servants earning at least GH¢3,000 a month.
Her lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, welcomed the court’s decision.
Baffoe, a senior nursing officer based in Techiman, had been in custody following her arrest at her home in Hansua in the Bono East Region on September 13, 2026. An earlier application for bail was refused by the High Court after prosecutors argued that investigations were continuing.
The prosecution alleges that she assisted in distributing social media content linked to the TikTok personality known as Ghana Jollof. Baffoe has pleaded not guilty, and the allegations remain unproven.
Her release brings an end to her period in remand custody, while proceedings in the case continue.
