The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has expressed deep sorrow following the death of renowned Ghanaian creative artist Sharon Dede Padi, popularly known as Padiki, describing her as a remarkable ambassador of Ghana’s creativity, resilience, and cultural excellence.
Padiki, a celebrated visual artist, architect, and poet, passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 50 after a short illness.
In an official tribute signed on behalf of GTA Chief Executive Officer Maame Efua Houadjeto, the Authority paid homage to Padiki’s outstanding contributions to Ghana’s creative industry and her role in promoting the country’s cultural identity on the global stage.
