Juliana Bubune Titiati-Tsikata, widely known as Bubune, has died following a battle with cancer.Bubune became a household name after finishing as the first runner-up in the 2013 edition of TV3’s cultural pageant, Ghana’s Most Beautiful.
Her family announced her death in a statement issued on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, describing her passing as a deeply painful loss.
Bubune had spoken publicly about her health challenges after being diagnosed with lymphoma. In recent years, she used her experience to raise awareness about cancer and encourage others confronting similar conditions.
In late 2025, she appeared on several media programs, including TV3’s Ladies Circle, where she shared her treatment journey and experience as a lymphoma survivor.
During those appearances, Bubune expressed gratitude to the individuals and institutions that supported her financially and emotionally throughout her treatment. She publicly acknowledged businessman Ibrahim Mahama and Stanbic Bank for their assistance.
Her openness about the illness and periods of remission made her a source of encouragement for many cancer patients and survivors. Despite her determined fight and the support she received, the disease ultimately claimed her life.
Bubune represented the Volta Region during the 2013 season of Ghana’s Most Beautiful, one of the country’s most prominent cultural reality programs.
She distinguished herself throughout the competition with her eloquence, understanding of Ghanaian culture and confident stage presence. After progressing through several weeks of competition, she reached the grand finale and finished as the first runner-up.
Her performance earned her admiration across Ghana and secured her place among the pageant’s memorable contestants.
Tributes have begun pouring in from viewers, media personalities and people inspired by her cancer advocacy. Many have remembered her for her courage, resilience and contribution to the promotion of Ghanaian culture.
