Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have transferred their children to another school in the United Kingdom following concerns about the safety and practicality of their daily commute.
Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, had attended their original school for only two days before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to move them to a different institution.
The decision followed consultations with the family’s private security team, which identified operational challenges associated with the distance, traffic conditions and resources required to protect the children during the school run.
A spokesperson for the couple said the transfer was based entirely on logistical and security considerations and was not a criticism of the original school.
The spokesperson expressed the family’s appreciation to the teachers and staff for the care they provided to Archie and Lilibet during their brief time at the institution.
The names and locations of both schools have not been disclosed to protect the children’s privacy and security.
The school change comes shortly after Harry and Meghan relocated their family from California to Britain following six years in the United States. The couple are reportedly maintaining their California residence while establishing a private home base in the UK.
Their return has renewed public attention on Prince Harry’s long-running dispute with the British government over access to state-funded police protection.
Harry lost automatic publicly funded security after he and Meghan stepped back from duties as senior working members of the Royal Family in 2020. The couple have since relied mainly on private security, which does not possess the same authority and operational resources as the police.
The Duke has repeatedly argued that the existing arrangements make it difficult for him to bring his family safely to Britain. A review of the couple’s security situation is reportedly underway following their return to the country.
