The ongoing child custody dispute between Ghanaian TikToker Humble Soul and his former partner, Shantel, has been adjourned to November 13, 2026.
The case concerns custody and access arrangements for their daughter, Najat, and remains before the court following applications filed by both parties.
Humble Soul’s lawyer confirmed the latest development after proceedings on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Shantel Files for Custody and Access
According to the lawyer, Shantel has formally filed an application seeking custody of and access to Najat.
The application has been served on Humble Soul’s legal team, which has filed a response addressing the claims and presenting its position on the proposed arrangements.
“The applicant, who is Shantel, has filed for custody and access of Najat, and we have equally filed our response to that,” the lawyer explained.
The filing does not represent a final custody determination. The court has yet to decide the arrangements governing the child’s residence, care and contact with either parent.
Court Considers Social Inquiry Report
During the proceedings, the court considered an oral application for an official social inquiry report.
Such an assessment is intended to provide the court with independent information about the child’s circumstances and the conditions relevant to her care.
The inquiry may examine the respective home environments, caregiving arrangements, parental capacities and other welfare considerations. Its findings are expected to assist the court in determining custody and access arrangements that serve Najat’s best interests.
“Today, the court considered our oral application for a social inquiry report, an official one from the court, to be conducted to ascertain certain things and bring that report to the court,” Humble Soul’s lawyer stated.
Case Adjourned for Further Hearing
Following consideration of the applications, the court adjourned the case to November 13, 2026.
The period before the next hearing is expected to allow the necessary social welfare assessment and legal processes to continue.
Both parties are expected to return to court on the scheduled date, when the matter will proceed based on the applications, responses and any report submitted for judicial consideration.
No final ruling on custody or visitation has been made, and the case remains pending before the court.
The court’s eventual decision is expected to focus primarily on Najat’s welfare and best interests rather than the competing public claims surrounding the dispute.
