Kuami Eugene Urges Creatives to Use Social Media Influence for Public Advocacy

Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian Highlife and Afrobeats musician Kuami Eugene has urged fellow creatives to use their social media platforms to support important social causes and encourage public participation in addressing community challenges.

The award-winning artiste said the influence musicians and other creative professionals command should extend beyond promoting their work to raising awareness about issues that affect everyday life.

He noted that artistes enjoy considerable attention and trust, particularly among young people, placing them in a position to bring wider visibility to concerns that might otherwise receive little attention.

Kuami Eugene encouraged creatives to engage their audiences on healthcare, civic responsibility and local development, using their digital presence to inspire action and informed discussion.

He also highlighted social media’s ability to connect people across geographical boundaries and mobilize support quickly. In his view, these platforms offer Ghanaian musicians opportunities to contribute to meaningful change through sustained public engagement.

The singer further stressed the value of collective advocacy, explaining that artistes could strengthen their impact by rallying behind shared causes.

He pointed to environmental protection, education and mental health awareness as areas where coordinated support from prominent creatives could attract greater attention from policymakers and businesses.

His appeal encouraged members of the creative industry to recognise public advocacy as part of their broader contribution to society, using the audiences they have built to support progress in their communities.
