Kwame Dzokoto Dies at 51 After Collapsing During Radio Program

Veteran Ghanaian actor, comedian and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto has died at the age of 51 after collapsing during a live radio discussion in Tarkwa in the Western Region.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 22, 2026, while he was appearing as a panellist on Owass FM’s morning programme. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was reportedly pronounced dead on arrival.

The Western Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kirk Mensah, confirmed his passing.

Dzokoto became a familiar face in Ghanaian homes through his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television comedy series Efiewura. His humour and distinctive delivery earned him recognition across generations of viewers.

He also hosted TV3’s Edziban, bringing an entertaining approach to exploring Ghanaian food, local eateries and culinary traditions.

Beyond entertainment, Dzokoto pursued a political career, contesting the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat on the NDC ticket in the 2016 general elections.

In September 2026, he publicly addressed concerns about his health, saying he had undergone surgery abroad and was recovering. A medically confirmed cause of death has not been announced.

News of his passing has prompted tributes from fans, entertainment colleagues and political associates, who have remembered his contributions to television, broadcasting and public life.

Formal details from the family and funeral arrangements were yet to be announced at the time of reporting.
