Media personality and concept curator Nanz Scripts has launched a new carpool-style web series titled Joyride with Nanz.
The four-part debut season premiered on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The program is produced under Northside Hub, Nanz Scripts’ creative entertainment media platform.
Unlike conventional studio interviews, Joyride with Nanz takes place inside a moving vehicle as Nanz drives through the streets of Accra with her guests.
Each guest is given control of the vehicle’s auxiliary audio connection, allowing them to create a personalized playlist for the journey. The selected songs are then used to begin conversations about music, memories, emotions and important life experiences.
The format is designed to move away from rigid questions and carefully rehearsed responses. Instead, the show creates a relaxed environment where guests can share personal stories while reacting naturally to songs with special meaning to them.
Music serves as the central storytelling device throughout each episode. A particular track may remind a guest of childhood, family, a difficult period, a major career breakthrough or another defining moment.
Through those musical selections, the program explores how songs can become connected to human memory and trigger strong emotional responses years after they are first heard.
Although the series is built around music, it is not restricted to musicians. The passenger seat is open to African creatives working across different disciplines, including digital content creators, visual artists, entertainers and media personalities.
The broader guest selection is intended to highlight the different ways music influences people, regardless of their professional backgrounds.
Joyride with Nanz also distinguishes itself from traditional carpool karaoke programs. Guests are not expected to deliver polished vocal performances or compete through singing.
Instead, the series uses the journey as a space for storytelling, games, humorous exchanges and spontaneous conversations. This approach allows each guest’s personality to guide the direction and mood of the episode.
Popular Ghanaian creative and media personality DJIFA appeared as the first guest in the premiere episode. Her participation introduced viewers to the show’s playlist-driven format and its combination of entertainment and personal reflection.
Through Joyride with Nanz, Nanz Scripts is seeking to create an informal platform where African creatives can present sides of themselves that audiences may not usually see during conventional interviews.
The four-episode first season will test the concept while introducing audiences to a different approach to digital storytelling—one in which the streets of Accra provide the setting and every song opens the door to a new memory.
