Award-winning actress Nia Long has received the 2,857th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in recognition of her extensive contributions to the motion-picture industry.
The induction ceremony was held on September 16, 2026, at 6150 Hollywood Boulevard, bringing together Long’s family, friends, colleagues and admirers to celebrate a career spanning more than three decades.
Long was honored in the Motion Pictures category for a body of work that has made her one of the most recognizable and influential Black actresses of her generation.
Rapper and entertainment icon Snoop Dogg joined Michael producer Graham King as a guest speaker during the ceremony. Both reflected on Long’s professional achievements, cultural impact and longevity within the film industry.
Several prominent entertainers were also present to support the actress, including Larenz Tate, Morris Chestnut, Tiffany Haddish, Mike Epps and Terrence Howard.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce further commemorated the occasion by officially proclaiming September 16, 2026, as “Nia Long Day” in Hollywood.
Long’s career includes memorable performances in several films that helped define Black cinema during the 1990s and early 2000s. She appeared in John Singleton’s acclaimed film Boyz n the Hood before taking on roles in Friday, Love Jones, Soul Food, The Best Man and its sequel, The Best Man Holiday.
On television, she became widely known for portraying Lisa Wilkes in the popular sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Her other television credits include appearances in Guiding Light, Third Watch, Empire and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Long also reprised her role as Jordan Armstrong in the limited series The Best Man: The Final Chapters, reconnecting with a franchise that remains an important part of her professional legacy.
More recently, she portrayed Katherine Jackson, the mother of Michael Jackson, in the biographical film Michael. The role added another major project to her varied catalogue and placed her at the center of one of the most anticipated music biopics.
Throughout her career, Long has become admired not only for her performances but also for bringing depth, confidence and authenticity to characters representing Black women, relationships and family life.
Her new star permanently places her name among the actors, filmmakers and entertainers recognized along Hollywood Boulevard for their contributions to global popular culture.
